Tottenham Hotspur looking to avoid upset at Watford in FA Cup Fourth Round

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to avoid an FA Cup upset as they travel to Championship side Watford tomorrow evening.

With events off the pitch dominating this week for Spurs’ boss Harry Redknapp, he will be hoping his side can progress into the fifth round with the minimum of fuss.

The North London side were in good form in round three as they eased into the fourth round with a 3-0 win against League Two Cheltenham Town.

Watford have also only played one FA Cup fixture so far this season and despite the 4-2 scoreline against Bradford City, the Hornets made easy work of their opponents.

Redknapp will be hoping his side can bounce back from last weekend’s 3-2 league defeat against Manchester City.

However, he could be without in form Gareth Bale who is struggling with a thigh injury while Scott Parker is suffering with a hamstring problem.

Spurs’ skipper Ledley King could sit the game out due to his persistent knee problem while fellow centre-back Younes Kaboul is a doubt with a groin injury.

Definitely ruled out are defensive midfielders Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Sandro (calf), while William Gallas will also miss the trip to Vicarage Road.

Redknapp may use the fixture as a chance to bring in squad players such as Steven Pienaar and Niko Kranjcar whose first team opportunities have been limited this season.

The last time these two sides met at Vicarage Road was in 2008 in the Carling Cup.

That day Spurs recorded a 2-1 victory with the goals coming from Jermaine Defoe and Darren Bent. The Hornets’ strike was thanks to Tamas Priskin.
